I left my heart in Michigan

I left my heart in Michigan

Enjoying my last few days in Michigan. My dad just finished recuperating from knee surgery, so I’ve been home the last week and a half talking care of him. At 77, I told him this better be his last surgery. With any surgery complications can be dire, and I just don’t think we should take this risk anymore at his age even though he’s moving around well, playing golf still, and hanging out with his buddies.
The older I get the more I yearn for a slower lifestyle. I love living in downtown Chicago and have been in the same condo for almost 15 years in the West Loop neighborhood, but I’m really yearning for more trees, nature, etc. It was amazing to get away from the hustle and bustle and go out on my back porch everyday and see the lake, the swans learning how to fly, and deer running through the yard. I never thought I would say this, but I think I’m turning into a country gal.
So what are you, a city slicker or a country gal at heart?
